what did you use to make the site? you should put one of those little icons in the address bar. (like how this site has the little chuck face) i can show you how. they're fun. and they get your site rated higher in search engines for some reason.

yes I'm a nerd.

I really liked some of your shots.

The one with the Statue of Liberty is especially amazing.

Thank you . I'm glad someone is looking at my work every now and then. I made the site using dreamweaver, being that the text is just html and i couldn't be bothered with flash and what-have-you like i did for my clothing companies website. It takes FAR too much time and too much cursing at the computer too.

Is it ok if you show me how to put a little picture in that thing? That would be graaaaand if you could.

Very Happy

I'm into photography myself and I have to say you have quite the eye. My work is not half as good as that.

Yeah, impressive.

Really digging some landscape shots, some beautiful NY pictures and the ballet pictures.

Really good work.

Is this just a hobby of yours?

The ballet shots are personally my favourite too, i took them for two reasons. To coincide with my essay on Degas' dancer paintings, and for the actual dancers portfolio.

I'd love to do this professionally at some point in my life, but at the moment architecture is ruling it! I'm especially interested in fashion photography but i just haven't had the time to get models, drive to places etc!

I really love your pictures! That's exactly the kind of pictures I've been wanting to take, but I don't really have the cash for a good camera, just have one of those crappy digital ones.

What camera did you use?

Very Happy i have used a canon 350D for the past 2 years but i have just recently bought a canon 40D (with a 17 - 85mm lens, AWESOME) with all the money i've gotten from my prints and stuff.

The 350D's aren't that expensive anymore since loads of 'better' models have come out (...after i paid 660 pounds for it!), and they are a great camera to get your head around all the little things you can do to manipulate a composition through an slr.

Sweet, thanks!

I've just been really getting into photography lately and I want (and hopefully, as soon as I can afford a good camera, will) start. I guess I'll take a beginners course to learn the basics and then just learn by doing.

If you have the patience: Could you give me some advice on what I should look for in a camera? I'm hoping to take pictures in a similar style to yours. I have no experience and no cash, so I'd need something easy to use, that helps me learn, yet takes good, professional looking pictures and doesn't involve me selling a kidney. I'd be extremely thankful!

Well, firstly you should definitely go to some camera shops and go have a look at some 'entry level' slrs. From there you should hold each one, just to judge on the way it feels in your hands (weight, etc..). Just from that you will be able to tell which one you want. Like i said, i first used a 350D which is the camera i felt fitted best in my hands. There are also nikon D40's which you could look for. But i must warm you whether you chose nikon or canon you're pretty must set for life with the brand.

The beginners course could help, but i must admit i went on a course, that was supposed to last a year, for 2 weeks just to learn how to develop traditional film because i was intrigued!

For pictures taken on a digital camera, in my opinion you don't really need a course. Just set your camera to manual mode and shoot your heart out. I'll help you if you want with tips some time.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that!

Right now I'm really broke, what I have isn't nearly enough for a good camera so for now I'm just trying to learn as much as possible about cameras so when I do have something saved up I don't spend it all on some crap.

I've done it! If you can't tell, it's a bird in flight. I tried to make a suave logo for my site but that failed miserably. Ah well i like how this one has turned out.

Thanks for your help.

A project i've had to do is to extend a single photographers work, i chose Sophie Calle, a french artist, who, for most of her work gives a sense of identity to her subjects.

So to contrast this and turn it on its head, i decided to take the identity away from my subjects, with inspiration from Francis Bacon.

This work is experimental and i am going expand upon it some time, but tell me what you guys think.

I like how they're not all perfectly focused and contrasted (if that's even a word). I like imperfections in pictures, makes them more interesting.

Take a look, any feedback would be appreciated.
