With all the new work being done to the site, I wondered if a staple of the website could be updated. The site's album index is good, but as the band has progressed, it hasn't been fully kept up with. While mine is not complete in any way, it is a very large list, which encompasses most of the essentials I think, and also includes high-res pics of all the album art, so people can put the art on the iTunes and other music players.

If you like the idea, it can be more fully fleshed out, with full tracklistings and more explanations, but I personally think all these pics should be saved to the IOV server, then re-uploaded by mods in the same fashion I did it (It's not too difficult and looks great!)

The release dates can be edited if incorrect, notes can be added, and better pics can be uploaded, but I think this is a great start! Thanks!

I think it would be a better idea to put the albums together, then the singles, then the side projects. I wouldn't put everything all together.

I recently added a few new additions to the Index:

Drive [Promo]
Are You In? [CD-Single][CD2]
Are You In? [DVD-Single]
Love Hurts [CD-Single][Import]
New Skin [Promo]
Stellar [Promo]
Warning [Promo]
Wish You Were Here [CD-Single][Import][Australia]

There may also be some other updates from before, but when you have the time, If someone could add them to the IOV 'Disc' Section, that would be great!

Here's the link again:

Actually, that's cool... I was hoping you would hold off for a couple weeks now. I should be putting up better versions of WYWH [Australia] and the Lollapalooza Promo, since I seem to be getting a hold of the last couple parts of my collection Very Happy

Alright, thanks to a few great additions to my collection and some free time at work Wink , I've seriously updated the Index now

It now has lots more promos and a new Vinyl Section! (Only "Root Beer" and "ACSOG" Vinyls have large covers to click for now, but it looks pretty complete!) They're ready to be added to the IOV Disc section whenever time allows... Thanks!

Here's the link:

We should probably add catalogue numbers, country of origin, track list, label name, etc. You've done so much already... I just think it'd be nice to have as much information as possible for every release.

As an example... take a look at this website for Pearl Jam stuff...

I totally agree... it's probably about time IOV had a serious discography anyways...

Here's how I picture it:
Quote:

Stellar [Promo]
Label: Epic / Immortal
Catalog#: ESK 15045
Format: CD-Single, Promo, Enhanced
Country: US
Release Date: Aug 01, 2000
Notes: This CD features the video "Stellar." Demonstration Only - Not For Sale

Tracklist:
1.) Stellar (Acoustic Version) (3:20)*
2.) Stellar (Album Version) (3:20)**
Enhanced Section:
Video - Stellar

Produced by Scott Litt
*Mixed and Recorded by Chris Shepard
**Mixed by Rick Will and Scott Litt]

A lot of help with this information can be found here:
Incubus @ Discogs
They should be double checked and editied a little, but the idea's there

Also, I think it would be cool to take additional photographs of the:
Inner Insert / Disc / Behind-Disc-Art / Back Cover
Maybe not huge, scan-quality pics, but something to get a sense of the "total" product. Plus, with just the main albums a "Digital Booklet" can be made like on iTunes, by scanning the booklet.

I don't know if these ideas are too lofty... there is obviously some interest and if people are willing to contribute, I think it could happen! Lemme know what you guys think!

Well, it's been over a year since my last post in this thread, but I finally got around to adding information to the releases Laughing

Here is the link to the new Incubus Discography I posted, which should replace the older update on the Incubus-Online-View "Discs" section

All the album artwork is now up-to-date and there is information for each release.

Enjoy!

I remembered today that at some point we need to back up the Discography stickied in the Incubus forum, in case something happens to my Photobucket account. I'm sure there's no rush, but the images should eventually be backed up on IOV... Thanks!

Do you have all of the images locally too? If so, you can upload them to the malkovich ftp and that'll work as a backup. Easier than downloading them all individually from the post.

I wanted to know if someone could move this post to just after the first post in this thread. The "Essential Collection" has outgrown the basic post limit, so it's now split up into 2 parts.

Sorry for such a late response to this question. Yes, I do have all the images locally and could upload them (and update them) with the Malkovich FTP, so just PM me whenever.

Along the same topic, I was wondering if I could just maintain the IOV site's Discography, since I'm essentially doing it right now, just through the forum. I'd probably need to talk to Steph about it, but I was thinking that if done through the website and not just the forum, I could not only maintain and update the information, but could also integrate lyrics into the discography, so you could click an individual song and have the lyrics pop up in a small javascript display window, which would be very convenient. Just an idea...

Thanks!
