Breaking news: per instagram, Incubus has a new global distribution and marketing partner-ADA Music, an independent arm of Warner Music Group.

https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/ada-worldwide-partners-with-incubus-on-global-distribution-deal/

I think this is a great move as ADA is well established and can really help in the marketing department on future projects.

Based on this article, they will be releasing music under their own self-titled label.

Interesting. Like Incubus Records?

They made a post recently on Facebook that teased their super old school record label, Stopuglynailfungus.

Not really news, but Brandon is now live on Instagram answering questions.

I clicked on it and Brandon was in the middle of a story about Jesus Christ Superstar and how his character was supposed to have dreads and they ended up making a wig out of Brandon's old dreads that he still had in a bag at home. I thought that was funny.

Just finished listening to Brandon's livestream. I was hoping Brandon would answer some of the Instagram questions that way, to get longer responses than we would get in written form.

And apparently we are getting a MY minidoc so it's been a good day!!

Anyone been watching interview clips, etc and think that Ben seems like he can’t be arsed anymore? Wondering if it’s just because he can’t comment that much on MY

Knowing this fanbase, Ben will catch hell for saying anything. I'll be suprised if he's allowed to talk on the mindoc that they did.

I just wish aside from the minidocumenatary on MY20 well atleast they release a dvd concert just like they did on alive at redrocks 2004. Because this is one of the most special era of their careers.
Hopefully...

While I agree that a lot of the fanbase (especially for the MY era) is toxic when it comes to the whole Ben/Dirk thing, it would really surprise me if they don't let him say anything at all. They just need to be smart about it, let him talk about his experience as a listener, not as a band member. What the songs meant to him, how they influences him as a musician, how he honors playing Dirks basslines nowadays, etc.

I remember when he had a profile on some sort of Q&A website, he told some great stories about how much MY meant to him as a listener, and that he would drive around Philly just listening to it.

And why shouldn't he talk about his experience as a band member? He's been playing these songs for 16 of the 20 years of MY they are celebrating!! Why should he have to walk on eggshells about it?

It's like people want him to apologize for following through on the opportunity that was offered to him. This is exactly what frustates me.

He can't say anything about the effect it had on the band or the process of making it. But I too remember Ben telling how huge this album is for him. In 2011 he said it was the album he was into the most. Just let him tell how it feels for him to be able to play these songs, which he enjoyed as a listener and now he has to honor them.

Don't overdo it, but he can still have a role in this whole deal. But I get why he isnt very visible.

So that's what that "Our love's not hiding anymore" tweet from a few weeks back was about. If the video they just shot is going to be Gentleman Broncos themed, I get why they shot in the desert again. It would make for an interesting video to say the least.

Ben got to speak for 15 seconds about seeing the album cover for the first time.

Dead serious. I wish I was joking.

Hopefully everyone in the band is just happy really!

I should hope these days that Ben/Dirk isn't a thing anymore. I don't think it is as much.

I am a bass player and I love both of them. I prefer Dirk's tone and that is a huge influence on me but a bass player often will gravitate towards him because he is so in your face and out front. I think Dirk is an amazing rhythmic bassist and I think that Ben is a master of melodic lines. Both are massive influences on me and have each played on my joint-favourite Incubus albums (MV and Crow). Doubt I'd be a bass player without either of them!
