I know I don’t post here often but I got on the list for the Troubadour show! I decided to be crazy and arrived at 7am. Was about the 20th person in line. The merch was ok, could have been a lot better in my opinion. I’m just stoked about the show Wednesday!

It looks like an awesome tour!

A few things i looked at:
-The band has not played at the troubadour since 1997 and this is also the first club show in LA since that echoplex show
-They’re playing in LA on October 26th, which is the 20th Anniversary of MY. Should be an interesting show

-Chuck is nowhere to be found on the artwork of the 20th Anniversary and that is a little bit disappointing. I guess Sony might be involved in that.

Aaaah ! I need money to get back the US this fall.

I have high doubts this tour will come to Europe ...

Julian Schrater, who did the pics, mentioned that Brandon was the creative director. And since Chuck is his father, I'm sure Chuck could've been involved in the artwork if he wanted to.
I was wondering how long it has been since the band played the Troubadour, that's a long ass time.

Couple of things I noticed:
- In a promo video, the voice-over says: "Playing songs from the album and all their hits", which leads me to think that they are not going to play the full album. Which - IF they don't - would be a huge missed opportunity in my opinion.

- In the Rolling Stone-article about this tour, they say: "It's been years since the band has played deeper cuts like Consequence and Out From Under from the album", which I thought was funny since Consequence was played last weekend.

- Like IncubusBelgium, I am not expecting European/International shows. It wouldn't make sense to do it in 2020 and the current schedule leaves no room in 201. Plus, we know the band has also been working on some new music, so that's bound to come out at some point in the fairly near future. Again, I think this is a missed opportunity. For me personally of course, since I am in no position to go to the US financially (which I would've seriously considered), but also because this album launched their international career to and a handful of shows in just the UK/Germany would acknowledge that. Not even a full European tour would be needed, in my opinion.

Some little tid bits about this upcoming tour:

- Like mentioned by Jazz, the show at the Troubadour on May 8th will mark the first time the band performs at the venue since 1997. Let's just say the setlist won't be the same as back then.

- The band returns to quite a few venues for the first time in a while this tour. Venues like the Fillmore in Denver and Greek Theatre in LA were last attended in 2007. The Ritz in Raleigh, NC, was last played in 2001! And the last time the band played Akron, OH at all was in 1998, when the album they are celebrating now wasn't even released.

- The show at the Greek Theatre is exactly twenty years after the release day of the album. The release party twenty years ago was played at the Roxy and featured six songs from Make Yourself, including the debut of Consequence.

- The songs from Make Yourself make up the bulk of songs the band has played over the years: songs were played 4515 times over the years, of course Drive being the most played: 813 times. Not a surprise. It was their breakthrough record after all.

- The least played song from the album is Out From Under, only played 27 times over the years. A true rarity, last played at a regular show in 2011.

- Battlestar Scralatchtica is the song that hasn't been played for the longest period of time. The last time was at Incubus HQ, during the Make Yourself-night in 2011. Before that, the last time it was played was at a single show in 2008, in China to be specific. The band played an unique set that night, due to Ben Kenney being sick.

- The Live Nation-promo for this tour doesn't exactly give closure on wether or not songs like Battlestar or Out From Under will make the cut this fall. Most anniversary tours feature an album being played from front to back, but the video leaves that very open to suggestion

This should be a fun tour. I’ll probably only hit one show though considering the setlists don’t really vary much. I’m excited nonetheless. This is the album that got me into Incubus. Crazy to think I’ve been a fan for 20 years!

Anyone else planning to hit show at The Fillmore in Charlotte? This will be show #15 for me!

The lady told me all she knew was to tell people the show is at 7. I’d be surprised if they played any time before 8 but you never know.

If they don’t play the album in full on this tour, it definitely feels a bit like false advertising. The people who come out and pay a lot of money for tickets are going to be the people who want to hear the deeper cuts off this that they rarely play. The name of the tour suggests you’ll hear Make Yourself fully through and then some other songs beyond that. Not sure why they would be against playing the album in full be honest. This band has done some mind boggling things in the past though so we’ll have to wait and see.

I mean they have played it front to back + Crowded Elevator before at Incubus HQ. Wonder if it just has something to do with Brandon not being able to sing all those songs anymore.

It also might give Brandon anxiety... I remember reading or hearing that during those HQ shows, Brandon was a wreck, and I could've sworn it was due to the pressure of performing all the albums like that. Who knows though.
I have to be leaving, but I won't let that come between us.
