SOAD is supposed to be announcing something today, too. Mike hinted at sharing the stage again with some old friends.

Hmmm...

Yeah, that seems like a likely option. But would they be doing a full tour with them or a one-off show or short run? I wonder.

It seems like they are touring with 311. They’re releasing a new album and touring the U.S this summer.

My guess is they are headlining Aftershock Fest 2018 in Oct. Given that we know the guys are back in the states after mid-Sept, it makes sense that they would do more Cali shows around that time

SOAD and Incubus together again confirmed. Awesome! I didn't think it would be at that amphitheater, though. That venue is HUGE. Wow!!

Chino from Deftones once said that they wanted to tour with SOAD,Incubus and At The Drive in, back in 2000.

Awesome to see both bands playing together again. It also seems like Incubus will have full headlining set.

Edit: Aftershock confirmed

And also Aftershock Festival. With SOAD, Deftones, Alice In Chains, 311, At the Drive In and more. So all the bands lots of Incubus want to see with them (save for AIC I guess).

Is that venue really 65.000 capacity? So this is a like a one day festival I guess?

It's mostly lawn (over 54,000 in lawn space). It looks like there will be 6-7 acts, so it's more like a one day festival, which is why the venue size makes sense, I guess.

Saw Tool and Primus in that venue last year. Sound is good, but the parking lot sucks.

If they added Interpol to that lineup, it would be the perfect show for middle school me.

I really hate the venue's parking like Jazz said. Basically 2-3 hours getting in and out. It's an absolute mess, went to Ozzfest there 2 or so years ago for the last Socal Sabbath show. There's two entrances (that I know of) that are both one lane streets each way going in and out of the venue. Cars going back a mile on the freeway trying to get off. Pissed I showed up more than an hour before Opeth's set that I was hoping to catch, but after finally getting in after parking and walking a mile to the venue, still missed them by an hour.

My advice for anyone wanting to go is go EARLY. And make sure to leave some beers in the car for after the show because you can probably drink them and sober up before you get out of the parking lot. That said, I love both bands too much to pass it up. I'm a sucker like that.
Incubus: 7/9/09, 10/16/10, 6/25/11, 7/1/11, 7/5/11, 8/10/11, 10/8/11, 10/15/11, 4/27/12, 5/25/12, 5/26/12, 9/8/12, 9/10/12, 12/13/14, 8/28/15, 8/29/15, 8/30/15
Ben Kenney: 10/8/11, 6/19/13, 6/22/13, 6/23/13, 7/19/14
Willie's Nerve Clinic: a shit ton of times
Chris Kilmore: 9/9/12, 6/22/13, 2/12/14
Brandon Boyd: 2/12/14

Was there a vip parking option for that show you went? There was a VIP parking for the Tool show last year and it ended up being a complete mess. I read a lot of complains from people who paid for the VIP parking and some of them left the parking lot until 5:00am.

Any guesses on how long Incubus will play at that show with SOAD? show starts at 3:30pm so i’d assume They’ll play their regular set time?

I don't know actually. After being stuck on the freeway for an hour, I got out of line and went around the back way off the 215 and parked in a dirt lot outside the venue and just walked since it was stopped on the other end too. The good thing doing it that way though was I was able to get out quick because my car was outside already and I didn't have to deal with the stupid bottleneck on the inside. My buddies I met up with there didn't get out of their lot till 3am or so.

Since the show starts at 3:30, and there's only 6 bands, yeah, I'd say they're probably playing full sets. Probably 1 hour for the openers, and hour and a half/2 hours for the others. Show would end at 12 that way.

My guess would be that Incubus plays a little bit shorter than usual, say 16 songs instead of 19, so between 1:15 and 1:30. SOAD plays monster sets (35 songs when I saw them, 2 full hours) and they are the main event for this show.

I Can’t believe that a single ticket for the Soad+Incubus concert is in the same price as a weekend GA pass to Aftershock.

Livenation fees are ridiculous.

I always wonder if they will do that, and they never do. Maybe rightly so, as they have faith in their own strengths, but I'm pretty sure they would go down a lot better if they throw in two SCIENCE songs in their set and at least on MY non-single, like Privilege and The Warmth.
