Yeah especially considering what they went through with the bass player. The song is pretty typical Deftones. Not amazing, but decent enough.

Prayers/Triangles is a song that will probably be better in the context of the album. I can imagine it somewhere near the emotional peak of the record.

They've been pretty steady given the things they've been through. Big fan of their newer material too even though I've really liked their output across their whole career.

So he's into djent. Cool.

It seems he's also using the same gear most if not all prog metal bands are using today. If he needs an outlet, he could try collaborating with bands like Periphery. (Though I doubt he is at the skill level those dudes are at.) At the end of the day, Deftones still trumps most of these bands anyway.

I've never been that big on Deftones, yet I find myself curiously interested in this album. Hearing a lot of mixed reactions.

Also. Phantom Bride impressed me a lot too.
I like how this album sounds nothing friendly compared to Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan.

It's amazing how Deftones are still relevant to this day.

I remember reading months ago that Jerry Cantrell has a solo on the album, but I forgot which track he was on. Then Phantom Bride came on and I knew. Very noticeable.

I like the album, in a strange way in reminds me of latter day Pink Floyd. It has kind of a flying-through-the-clouds vibe to it. The title track is probably my favourite at the moment.

Like it but don't love it. Sound quality in gore is suspect
