The Paper Kites

Postby BeccaWilsonxx » Wed Oct 28, 2015 11:03 am

The Paper kites are a folk-Rock group that formed in Australia in 2010. They have three albums out and two EP's. Their latest album Twelvefour is more bluesy than Folk. It's so relaxing and mellow. The group is continuing to work with Seattle based producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes,Manchester Orchestra) who helped them develop a more lush, synth based sound for their latest album, released in 2015. Twelvefour was a concept album that was composed entirely between the hours of Midnight and 4AM.

I listened to a few songs. Thought it was good, but not something I'd listen to on a regular basis. Reminded me a bit of Gregory Alan Isakov.

Yeah, I don't think it's your type of music haha. But I find it very relaxing. I liked how they did the whole album recordings from midnight - 4am.

Yeah I think so. They explained how they wanted the album to reflect When "selfishness and love collide." It was experimental.
Here is an article the Rolling Stone wrote about the band :
