Looks like they are settling into an A/B format. Exact repeat of 2 nights ago.

SCIENCE looks dropped. Kind of a "meh" setlist to me, but I'm sure the majority of the crowd will love it.

Disappointing to see how these setlists are shaping up. Not even one SCIENCE song per show is a slap in the face, especially this being the year of its 20th anniversary. I'd at least be happier if they were playing 7-8 songs from 8 per night, like that first show. I understand they must love it when the crowd goes nuts for all the big singles, but why songs like Circles take up the non single slots every tour is beyond me. Switch it up! That first show's set was so freaking solid.

Agreed 100%.

First set was such a tease. Near perfect.

INNW is such a boring fucking song, really hope they don't play it when they come to San Diego. That entire album just doesn't do it for me live, with the exception of like two songs.

After three shows, I was really excited. Even thought there was a certain format they were working with, there was enough variation per night. Sure, a SCIENCE song here and there could help and some of the non-single choices were not so spectacular (Circles, indeed), but overall I really liked how different they were.

I'm kinda disappointed that the past two shows saw set list we saw already. I still don't understand why I am so obsessed with set lists of shows I'm not attending or on a tour I'm not even going to, but I always hope bands shake it up a bit every night.

Still curious to see what we will see for the show tonight, since they rehearsed so many more songs that haven't been played yet: Familiar Faces, Trust Fall, Absolution Calling, Make Out Party, Echo, Just a Phase, acoustic Pardon Me, I Miss You... I'm sure there's more. If they had switched in two of these songs every night the past two nights, at least there would've been something fresh about the set lists. Let's see what they'll do tonight.

Looks like they went back to the first setlist last night. As mentioned by others, I'm curious to see if they will periodically throw in some of the random ones they're soundchecking. Was really hoping Trust Fall would be a staple, as that's one of my favorite songs they've put out since the MV days.

Selfishly, pretty bummed that I am all but guarenteed the weak setlist Friday now.

INNW, Love Hurts, Wolves...so lame. Oh well it's still Incubus.

Seems we can lock this thread, since we know all we need to know for the sets during the summer.

Dean Youngblood wrote:With tonight's tour debuts (Quicksand, AKTSUO, Stellar, Here In My Room, and Throw Out The Map), the boys have now played 31 unique songs in 3 nights.

In the 2015 US tour, 33 shows, they played 32 unique songs TOTAL. That says a ton. Through the first three shows, they played 22 unique songs. The second show had 4 debuts, the third show 0.

Awesome stuff.

Regarding this post: compared to the INNW-tour they started off 'better' as well. 27 unique songs in three shows back then (the first three ampfitheatre shows of the US tour, discounting one festival performance in between).

But after six shows, the counter for 2017 is still at 31, unfortunately. In 2011, the last real album tour, it stood at 33 after six shows. They kept adding new songs, even if it were a few. 39 after ten shows, 42 after fifteen, 44 after twenty. But more importantly, the rotational spots within the set varied more each night. You had songs like When It Comes, Green, Glass, Privilege, 11am, Just A Phase and Paper Shoes in the mix, and the new songs were also varied more and not played in one particular set.

Still hoping the band needs to gather up speed and is going to switch it up. They rehearsed all these other songs, so I'm pretty sure variation will come. It took a long time in 2015 before some surprises were thrown in. Maybe the band feels more comfortable doing familiar things each night.

It was stock B. As a hardcore fan I was pretty disappointed that there was nothing new. No SCIENCE. Only singles from MY. But it was still a ton of fun. They sound GREAT.

It was my gf's first show. She geeked out over INNW, Dig, Anna Molly, and NTKY. So as much as I was bummed, she was happy. Which is how it goes, I guess. If they took a vote before the show none of my songs would make it in. If it helps us keep our Vegas reservations it was a great investment!

Today was a terrible day in NJ. Pouring constantly. When it wasn't pouring the humidity was 90%. The lawn was a mudslide. Yet the crowd was as loud and engaged as I've seen them since 2011. Blew 2015 out of the water. The band seemed to respond positively to the feedback. Nice callouts to Ben's Dad who was in the crowd. Not so subtle "dedication" before Megalomaniac complete with only orange lights.

The crowd responded SO well to basically anything off MY/MV which is in line with my expectations. The amount of singing along to Pardon Me rivaled anything I've seen in a while. All phones up in front of me. NJ is an intelligent crowd, and the internet doesn't hurt. As soon as Wolves started the place emptied out for a piss/beer run. Wolves-Loneliest-WIBAM people were sitting down. Then the place brought the house down for Warning. Which begs the question, why indulge so much in newish slow jams? Oh well, not my decision.

All in all, great time. Despite my quibbles. On IG for the song request I chose Aqueous and Summer Romance. 1/2 ain't bad at all. Cheers everyone.

Ps - after my GF saw me write this I may be single now.

If your gf leaves you over something as trivial as a differing opinion in Incubus songs, I'd say there's a much larger issue to blame lol..

Probably my least favorite incubus concert. The weather did not help, but literally thought we got ripped off with the setlist. Brandon sounded like he was yelling rather than singing. Pantomime was probably the climax of the night. Still have high hopes tomorrow for the first ever show at Bethel Woods.

This is a super accurate account for me too. Although, I really enjoyed the 8 songs- especially State of the Art- the harmonies with Ben were great.
Overall, not my favorite show (10th time I've seen them), but there were definitely bits I liked. The final chorus of NTKY sounded great, the way they changed up INNW's final section from the marching drum pattern to a more straight ahead rock feel made that song a bit more bearable (not that I'm not a fan, it's just not the most energetic song for a live show).

Hopefully Camden next week will be a better set.

Really pains me to read all these semi-enthused accounts of the shows. Also some on reddit and some people I personally know (their words: 'Brandon was terrible on Sick Sad Little World'). From the videos I've watched, Brandon doesn't sound perfect, but miles better than two months ago. But if so many fans, who know what the band can sound like live, come back only slightly positive, that's a real bummer to read.

As far as I could tell last night, Brandon was on point. The only trouble I heard was on INNW.

As far as setlist variety, this is why I only choice to attend a 5 Vegas shows. It's another A/B tour but that puts less stress on BB voice.

But can Brandon's voice handle a lot of changes within that week, if he is not able to handle them now? Oh well, I get it. He is getting older and the whole band is getting older.

At least there was one change last night: Stock A got Nice to Know You Added, which wasn't played the first two times...

To be fair, it seems 95% of the board based on posts I've read would only be content with 6 SCIENCE songs, a few MY songs, and a few MV songs, maybe with Pendulous and Rogues mixed in. I saw them in both Atlanta and D.C. (I believe identical setlists) and I highly enjoyed both shows. The band put on an awesome show both nights, brought a lot of energy, and legimatately seemed to be having a ton of fun both nights, which is in contrast to a lot of the complaints a lot of people had from the last several tours. I'm convinced this is one of the most under-appreciated bands these days, even from some of the people around here that claim to be their biggest fans. Everyone seems to resent them for not playing their old deep cuts, even though they have been on record stating they don't really enjoy playing those songs anymore. It feels like a no win situation for them. I'm glad everyone is still going out to support them, I just wish more people would embrace the fact that they are having fun again and it really shows through so far this tour. Brandon sounds fantastic right now despite everyone's concerns prior to the tour. Ben is super engaged, Mike/Jose/Kil have been bringing the energy, I mean cmon people, let's embrace this tour and be glad that we are getting solid performances out of a band everyone claims is burnt out and not enjoying themselves anymore. Sorry for the rant but I have been a fan since Day 1 and was highly satisfied with what I saw on stage even though I got identical setlists for two shows that I traveled 4+ hours for both nights (I live in Nashville). The guys have been killing it and the crowds have been super supportive so far. Yes I love SCIENCE and MY as much as everyone else but the guys have moved on from a lot of those songs and are playing music that they like to play. I can respect and appreciate that.

Now I think that's almost entirely untrue. The people here are definitely not (all) the ones who are only content with six SCIENCE songs. In fact, I'm sure that even some of the people that are (slightly) disappointed with the set lists, don't even mind there is hardly any SCIENCE on there.

It's also not about super rare deep cuts. For example, they've played Rogues about 25 times since it was released, no reason to expect it to be a staple. But we know that there are quite a few songs that they have rehearsed that are not in the mix right now, and if those are songs you really like, it's only natural to be a bit disappointed at not seeing them on the list: Echo, Just A Phase, Familiar Faces, I Miss You, Absolution Calling, Trust Fall, Make Out Party to name a few.

Other people that have been critical did say the shows have been good, but the set lists a bit uninspiring. I think saying that you'd rather see Sick Sad Little World instead of In The Company of Wolves, because you find the latter a bore live and notice that people en masse went to take a piss during that song, is not asking for super deep cuts or half of SCIENCE. I can totally get into that criticism, since I saw In the Company of Wolves live three times and two of those times it was one of the least memorable performances of the night. Saying you'd rather see a song like Trust Fall (has been rehearsed) than Circles, basically a non-single staple since 2009, is not unrealistic.
I think none of these complains are in the vein of 'Why don't you guys play SCIENCE anymore', so it's a bit unfair to lump them into that category.

I'm really happy to hear that the band has been having fun on stage. I've seen that in the videos too. And I've also seen videos of songs that Brandon really struggled with only a few months ago (Nimble, Wish You Were Here, State of the Art), that he has been nailing now or at least has improved on a ton. So no worries there. But if you look at their last full album tour, back in 2011/2012, the setlists were just a little more exciting and it's not unrealistic to hope the band move back to that.

All of these comments come from long time fans, just like you. And the thing with fans is: they are super critical, because they know what a band is capable of. If you only know the hits, you are content with only the hits. You don't know what you are missing. If you know the band has so much more to offer, and you feel like they don't fully show it, you can't help but be disappointed a little.

(Also, my complaints should be taken with a grain of salt any way. I'm not even at these shows.)

Fair enough, maybe an overreaction on my part. Just seems like there has been a lot more complaining in this thread than positivity which I feel is not fair to the band. Hell, someone a few posts up said we should lock the thread because of the lack of variety. I'm just trying to be positive given how much I enjoyed the shows, despite the lack of variety. But I do understand your points and apologize if I offended you, we are all here because of a mutual love for a killer band.
