Hey! I wanted to ask you, how is the booklet design? Is it as simplistic as the album cover, or is it more interesting?

I can imagine that Dave Sardy isn't too pleased anyway that he did all the mixing etc. and then Skrillex re-did all his work. Just assuming here, but it must be a bit of a kick in the teeth to hear the band talking about how Skrillex made every song better according to them.

weird indeed! I wonder what's up with that? does it give producer credit to anyone?

Maybe he wanted it that way?

That dude deserves a lap dance. I can't stop rocking out to this album!

Didn't think about it that way.

Props to Skrillex though. Really excited to see many of these tracks live!

Nice layout with pictures of the guys on one side, lyrics on the other. Very simple but quite nice.

they should have just brought skrillex in to produce the whole thing, right from the beginning.

Can't get over the awful sounding drums in NB. Skrillex fucked that song.

Also, not really digging the effects on Brandon's vocals on FF, unnecessary. Skrillex fucked that too, although I like the police vibes the song has.

Gonna give 8 several more listens, but so far Light Grenades seems like the better album.

When you listen to the full album, I think he put too much effects on everything (especially on voices).

I'm sure co-producer Skrilly got a big old payday too, for fiddling with Sardy's work and "sprinkling that fairy dust"

I mean, maybe they should have just had skrillex come in originally, if he was just going to mess with all the work one producer had already finished. Maybe skrillex would have pushed them in a different way. maybe these songs would all sound completely different with skrillex in the mix from the beginning. who knows?

I like the touches on certain tracks on the album, but the changes to NB hurt it more than helped, I think.

I wonder when the track with Chino will be complete and how it would have fit into 8.

I secretly hope that they have a few other unfinished ideas on the backburner and release the chino track with them as "Trust Fall Side B". Mainly so my OCD self can happily browse the Incubus discography without anxiety.

I'm waiting for it to be released, just to see it become the 'Look Alive' of the new album.

I like "When I became a man"

It sounds like someone randomly played that silly backing track from decades ago and Brandon just improvised over it. Love how he goes "yess" when he hears it. I'm all for a goofy interlude.

That'd be awesome. This is a really good time for the band.

The more I listen the more I like it, it's a really good album. Not Crow good, but really really good.

I'll never stop being surprised though by how vastly different the opinions on this board are, so much hate for LG and Trust Fall, it baffles me.

I also don't get the Skrillex hate. When it was first announced everyone was like: Oh no, it'll be a dubstep album. Now it's the furthest thing from that but people just blame everything they don't like on him. Truth is, we have absolutely no idea how the songs were before Skrillex and we will probably never know what exactly was his doing and what not.

You know, as good as the album turned out to be, it's still a shame we didn't get to hear what this was all about:

I don't see why it would have been hard for Jose to do something for Lonliest. The drum machine is truly awful and turns an ok song into a big fat dud in the middle of a great album.
