Now that clip at least sounds like Incubus. I'm looking forward to hearing the entire track.

edit: I retract my earlier statement. Sounds Sum41-ish

Haha yeah, I wanted to say: Nimble Bastard sounds more Incubus-y than this snippet.

I'm really getting a "Make Yourself" vibe from that snippet, especially the guitar work.

Apparently the track that will feature Skrillex will be called Frickin Fantastic (source: revolttv). Which is a weird ass title.

After listening to the snippet too many times i kinda feel a Dig vibe from it.

I try not to be negative about this Skrillex collaboration but to be honest i don't really know what to expect and that worries me a bit. Song titles are so lame and un-Incubus like.

One thing i have to recognize and applaud them is the fact that the band tried new things on their music for the first time in a very long time. Even the Chino Moreno collaboration it's something i don't know what to expect but exciting at the same time.

We'll see how this 8 album turns out but i don't really have high expectations like on past albums.

To be fair, the weird song titles started with the Trust Fall EP. Make Out Party, Dance Like You're Dumb... That's nothing to blame on the Skrillex colab. And who knows, maybe that No Fun-snippet is from a song without Skrillex.

Haha I'm pretty sure the song isn't called "Frickin Fantastic." Those were just the words KROQ used to describe the song. http://runthetrap.com/2017/02/04/skrill ... cubus-way/

Based on the hashtag they're using and the lyrics in the song, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the song is called "No Fun."

Haha if this is the case, than the guys from revolttv are morons.

Dig? I'm interested to hear why you think that...I really don't get that vibe at all. Feels a bit grungier. Also I know its a snap vid, but the bass when that chorus (possibly) line comes in sounds great!

I'm not really hearing the Dig comparison either. To me, that chorus part reminds me more of Privilege or Nowhere Fast.

I love the clip and continue to be excited for the album. Seems like they've been getting encouragement from Sonny, Zedd, and Dave Sardy to find elements of their old sound based on some of the articles/interviews I've been reading and listening to. Very encouraging in my opinion. I'm always excited for new Incubus though so I'm admittedly pretty biased, but they have yet to really let me down. I still listen to INNW as much as I do their earlier stuff and always appreciate their creativity, even when it doesn't yield results that make everyone happy.

Hahahaha! I have no idea what anyone else calls 'dance rock', but to me, that's it! ;) After someone said something about it, I think they're right! And yeah, it also sounds like Sum 41. As long as they're having fun, I'm always down. I dig it. We'll see how it really sounds soon!

Edit: just checked out the clip of Chino in the studio. Nails on a chalkboard. I've never dug his singing, but liked a lot of the band's tunes. No big deal, again, we'll hear it all when it comes out, but that for me has just inspired me to not listen to any other clips released. See you on the other side!

That snippet doesn't remind me of any past incubus material. Seems really poppy too. Not digging it.

I listened to it a couple of times, and I'm not feeling it all that much either. I know the quality is bad, I know there's a lot that I can't hear and I know that it's just a snippet, but the whole vibe of it is not getting me excited.

Also absolutely not getting how anyone is hearing Make Yourself-vibes in this snippet. I've seen people here and on reddit mention that, but I don't get it.

Obviously too difficult to tell what it will be like from a 15 second clip but I really like what I'm hearing. Love Brandon's voice on it - aside from some dodgy lyrics, he's been the band's MVP for INNW and Trust Fall, I'd argue.

Here's another preview (I'm not sure if it's another song) — https://youtu.be/vgax11NZUlU

It sounds... weird.

Vocals often sound weird when they are isolated. And Chino's voice is very much a taste thing. It's not a voice that is universally regarded as good or nice to hear, though some people absolutely love it.

Starting to think Skrillex is playing a bigger part in the making of 8 than originally thought. We're seeing/hearing more about Skrillex than fucking Ben Kenney. Fuck that shit.
