Trust Fall Side A was also delayed. And B and C were scrapped all together (but then we got 8 instead). Their management/timing is piss poor the last few years.

That riff has potential, but I hope the production on the drums is better overall than this snippet

has a ACLOTM era vibe riff-wise, wish we could get a new album or at least a time frame for one

So I went to Ben's (random NAMM affiliated) show last night and got to talk to him for a little bit. Apparently he wasn't aware the song release was pushed back. He was under the impression it was still coming out today and even said how he noticed it was weird things had been silent. He basically said everything has been done on their end for a while, so maybe it's something out of their control and some 3rd party company that's handling all the promo/social media stuff. Dunno, can only speculate. He also said he and the band plan on being pretty busy this whole year. He plans on playing some shows, as does Incubus. He has been trying to decide if he's going to open up the Ghetto Crush store back open for releasing his vinyl, and even though he has it in hand, he's not entirely sure how the release of it is going to go like (at his one off show in LA back in 2018, he gave out copies of LOYM for free to everyone in attendance, and he has been sitting on those for YEARS). At the earliest, March is when he'll start to sell it.

Don't have much else to report, but the show was awesome, and he was in really good spirits and seemed pumped to play new music. Apparently there was as stream of it, so if you can, I suggest listening to it, the banter that night was on point. Was nice seeing him have so much fun and making people laugh. Wish we saw more of that at Incubus shows.

Wow, that's really strange that Ben didn't know.

It definitely seems like it may be something out of their hands in this situation, and even though I'm liking the sound of the teaser, I don't think this singles approach is a good format for them. Hoping they ditch it and just release any other songs as an EP.
I have to be leaving, but I won't let that come between us.

If it's out of their hands then I'm willing to let it slide.

That said, it's still looking like 2 singles in as many years, if they don't come with anything else this year that is - but it's early days.

They said in a kinda recent interview that albums don't make the splash they used to so they've got a bunch of singles lined up for release, but yeah...they used to have this shit down when Rennie was with them. I miss that guy like hell, it hurts to see your favourite band drop the ball so hard.

I don't like the singles approach at all. This is an album band. I love listening to MV and ACLOTM front to back. Everything went downhill when Ren left.

The band just announced two shows in Vegas, as part of the MY 20 Years-tour. Kinda like an encore to the tour. May 22nd and 23rd.

I was keen after the first snippet, it seemed cool. But after this second one I'm far less excited, I just really hate the way Brandon is singing in this one

Same here. I hate to say it, but Incubus was one of my favorite bands of all time back in the day and now I just really don't like their new music. I'll always be thankful for the classic albums but I really don't know what they're trying to do anymore.

It definitely sounds like he's singing in this sort of poppier way nowadays... I'm less excited but still want to hear it.

Those two sentences just lack an interesting melody. Could still turn out to be a great song, but I'm not super excited about whats coming.

sounds ok...better than Into The Summer IMO. Bit more of a vocal punch in this one. Still hopeful.

Huh, so the clips they posted on their Instagram back in mid August are obviously from this music video. That's 5 months ago, even before Into The Summer was released.

The thought process of how they release their songs is a complete mystery to me. How can you have a song and video mostly done, but still decide to release another single before AND then delay it another two weeks without even the whole band knowing? Why?

Is this a shitty label, shitty management or both? Either way, it's just embarrasing.
