Congrats man, that'll be a lot of fun! I've been wondering what's the ballpark figure on number of songs they've recorded but never released? Or just number of songs they've started to work on but threw away?
I have to be leaving, but I won't let that come between us.

Two shows I was totally unaware of until last night, Grand Rapids on 5/31 (already sold out) and Columbus on 6/1. They’re doing a piss poor job of announcing these....

I was surprised to see a show in my hometown pop up in May, at a reallllly small venue none the less! What?! When did this happen?! I thought for sure the 8 tour would be winding down by now.....That alone had me hype as fuck...let alone snagging MYF tickets....DUDES...I can't even...

I'm beyond stoked. What in the world could I possibly say to the guys other than a good handshake and thank you? I'm a grown ass man by now and part of me thinks walking past a table and systematically getting an autograph just isn's that cool anymore....truthfully I wanted to just camp out and get as close as possible to the stage for the actual show but now I'm more worried about not getting a prime spot than actually getting the swag and going backstage LOL

Can't wait.

Any burning questions I should ask?

You'll likely be in and out of there in like 10 minutes. You have time for one really good question to one of the guys, and maybe a little bit of time to give one of the guys a really good compliment. :D

Goddamnit...Is it really that brisk? Don't kill my vibe! I wouldn't be too butt-hurt about that to be completely honest... It's going to be a great time regardless. Teeny venue right next to home, can't argue.

When I did a MYF M&G it was pretty quick, but after the photo was taken there was some time to chat. You had to be pretty assertive though, which I wasn't and I was - to be completely honest - a little starstruck so nothing came out of my mouth.

I would at all times avoid typical fan-questions (what's your favorite song to play live? etc.) and rather approach them as people rather than the band member.

Was listening to a lot of Incubus today while driving around, mulling over in my head what I'd ask them if I could.

To be honest I'd kill to just sit with the guys for an hour and ask a bunch of stuff. I was especially struck today listening to Punchdrunk, it's just so grand a song that it made me question who the hell decided that one should be left off LG. I'd love to ask the guys about that sort of thing with their albums - what got left off and why.

One question I've always wondered is - when they recorded Black Heart Inertia & Midnight Swim for M&M, I'm pretty sure Rennie posted an update saying he'd heard some new Incubus material recorded for the greatest hits, and it sounded to me like more than two songs, which is why I wondered why only 2 made the cut of the Greatest Hits in the end (excluding all the stuff from the second disc). I'd love to know if there were any other tracks cut during those sessions.

I'd also love to know what happened with The Vault, also came about around the time of the Greatest Hits. Originally said to be a huge vault with all kinds of rare and unreleased recordings, it was made to sound like all kinds of leftovers and outtakes and album cuts that didn't make it would be uploaded there but in the end that was a little underwhelming, and is gone now.

So many questions...

Finally. But late festival season, hope it doesn't mean that there will be no headline shows. And hopefully no show in the Netherlands before august 14th, because I am in Vietnam until that date.

Big chance they'll play Lowlands in the same weekend as Pukkelpop. If so, I might try for a cheap last minute ticket, so I can go on the day, not really wanting to spend big on a whole weekend for a festival slot of an hour. So I'm really hoping for headline shows.

This announcement also really ups the chance of a return to Reading/Leeds, since those festivals are also in the same period.

Good to get confirmation that the guys will be hitting Europe.

In one of Mike's instastories, when they guys where in South Africa, Brandon and Kil talked about recording when they get back home in Sept (though they did not mention mid-or end of Sept). If this festival is near the beginning of this run, it would fall in line with the 5-6 week runs they've been doing.

It will be interesting to see where they go during this run and what other changes they might make to the setlists and songs themselves, as I've liked a lot of the changes they've made to the classics, starting with the Vegas shows.

Holy fuck, the stint in Europe is going to be short and just cover the festival season. Just announced: Kaboo Del Mar in San Diego 14-16 september.

Really adopting a wait and see approach to what the band is going to do in Europe, maybe they'll do headline shows in November?

I’m not sure they’ll make the trek out there twice in such a small time frame. Maybe they'll start the European run in late July-early Aug, doing a combo of festivals and headline shows, like in the US.

We need more show announcements to fill in the blanks.

Yeah, the timing couldn't be worse for me as I'll be on holiday from 23 july to 13th of August. Also, as a European fan I would feel a little hard done by if again we would get mainly festival shows, as we've only had two headline shows (London, Milan) in the past six(!) years and only a handful of festivals surrounding it. And the last tour with a substantial number of headline shows was in summer of 2012, where half of the shows were festivals and half were headline shows, making up for cancelled shows in 2011.

Oh, I see. Well, I hope it works out in a way that you can see them, after mid Aug. Given that they didn't do many headline shows last time, it might be a little more balanced this time.

There's not a lot of European Fest in early august, except Sziget.

Guess they'll do something like that :

Sziget (Hungary)
Oya (Norway)
Pukkelpop (Belgium)
Frequency (Austria)
Lowlands (NL)
Reading/Leeds (UK)
Rock en Seine (Fr)
Loolapalooza Berlin (Ger)

and a small bunch of headline shows (UK ? Luxemburg? Italy ? Spain ?)

Fairly sure they'll do a UK Headline show, especially if they get booked for Reading/Leeds. I can also really imagine a German headline show, since I have the feeling that Germany still really digs music from Incubus' peak era. I can only hope they do a Dutch headline show, since I know Brandon loves Amsterdam haha! I'm guessing it will be Lowlands though, which doesn't sell day tickets... So in that case I will be trying for a cheap weekend-ticket at the last minute. Can't believe that the opportunity to see them might actually pass me by, but it certainly seems possible timing and money-wise.
