Don Jon - 7/10

Did not expect this to be heavy with the sex. Liked it.

Oh man, I really like Don Jon! Not a best movie ever kind of thing, but watch it again in a minute.

Nice. :)

I'm in the middle of watching Focus. If this turns out to be just like Matchstick Men, I'm going to give this a thumbs down.

Focus - 6/10
*spoilers* Margot Robbie's character was a wasted potential. She pretty much was just a damsel in distress in this movie.

He's Just Not That Into You - 4/10
Really expensive cast. Didn't care for any other story arc except for Ginnifer Goodwin's. Her character was weirdly obnoxious and loveable at the same time.

The Theory of Everything 6/10

Really boring movie and the only redeeming quality is Eddie Redmayne's performance. Deserved oscar.

The Hangover III 5/10
Pretty bad, but still chuckled every now and then.

Irrational Man

Really enjoyed it. I picked what was going to happen in the end, but the way it actually happened was unexpectedly hilarious.

Kubo and the Two String 8/10

Dark and action-packed animation movie. Not your run of the mill animation.

Zootopia - 6/10

I shouldn't have expected something light and kid-friendly. It kind of spoiled it for me. Probably the most cynical animated film I've ever seen.

Anyone else seen Get Out? Up there as one of the most enjoyable films I've seen in the cinema - the whole audience were taken on the ride together.

A stunning movie.

I saw Moonlight on Thursday and I think it seriously deserved the Oscar for best pic. Way better than La La Land, which was very dissapointing.

Lars and the Real Girl
Absolutely hilarious at times, but mostly weird and creepy. Ending felt too convenient - as if Gosling's character was just fooling everyone all along.
7/10

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates
I like Aubrey Plaza. Laughed some, but largely forgettable.
5/10

50/50
I thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance in this was great.

Power Rangers 2/10

It was horrible. Nothing about it is able to redeem it.

I hated Power Rangers as a kid, so I didn't believe the hype a single bit.

Watching Power Rangers is like watching Hanna Barbera over Looney Tunes.

I agree, I had to watch it for a review for work. It's absolute horse-shit. Elizabeth Banks plays a cringeworthy role, her worst ever. The five kids who become the power rangers all act like they are in their first year of theatre school. The story is bland, the action is blander. It's so bad, I can't believe it actually came out.

Last movies seen :

La La Land 4/10
Completely disappointed. Everybody is very excited with this movie, I don't really understand. The music is not that fantastic, Gosling is insipid, story has been done again and again.

Moonlight 7/10
Wonderful actors, some parts are too long and the feelings can go deeper.

Trainspotting 2 4/10
If you love the first movie, you'll be disappointed. The rythm is too slow, the music is not as good as #1, you can guess the ending 30 minutes before.

Nocturnal Animals 9/10
So much thrills. It goes deep in your strongest fears, brilliant actors (and Jake Gyllhenhaal is not one of my favorite), good scenario until the end. Flawless.

To be seen : Lost City of Z, Lion

Moonlight
I liked it. Chapter 1 & 2 were great - especially chapter 2. The film very clearly communicated why his spirit was so broken after he got beat up and the end was completely justified. But Chapter 3 (Black) was kind of a hard sell to me. I found it hard to believe he grew up to be that intense after a very awkward childhood (the scene where he intimidated his dealer). It also felt like 10 years did not pass since the last time they saw each other. Feelings diminish even after just 1 or 2 years, but to see them pick up where they left off with very little interaction after 10 years was just unbelievable to me. (Before Sunset was a movie that handled it really well)
7/10

I did not know the Death Note adaptation would be a series. I think you'd have to be a really bad producer/director to screw up the series. They'll be fine if they just remain faithful to the source material. I'm sort of excited for this..
