Saw the new Woody Allen film Irrational Man, was better than I expected it to be as I'm not a fan of his films usually, his characters tend to behave and sound very similar to him, all the opinions and speech is very similar too. It feels like he can't write characters who are genuine constructs without feeding all of himself into them.

I watched Love & Mercy today, the Brian Wilson flick. I really enjoyed it. Paul Dano is such a great actor, as is John Cusak. They both nailed Wilson. And I've got a soft (or is it hard...?) spot for Elizabeth Banks. Paul Giamatti was downright scary.

And so I've had The Beach Boys music stuck in my head all day. I think I'll go listen to Pet Sounds...

The last movie I saw was Minions, in a theater on July 18 :P

It was awesome! I loved the soundtrack, the majority of took place in the 1960s and it had a lot GREAT songs for a kids movie ("Happy Together" by The Turtles, "My Generation" by The Who, "Break On Through (To the Other Side)" by The Doors, "Street Fighting Man" by The Rolling Stones and a few more I can't remember)

I also just like the minion characters too. I've only seen parts of the two Despicable Me movies while I was volunteering at a summer group with some younger Autistic kids a few years back and the minion characters are what made what I saw of those movies memorable for me.

Black Mass 7/10. If you're into gang/criminal action movies you should watch.

I saw The Peanuts Movie in theaters last Saturday. I thought it was decent, but it took me a little while to get used of the new animation style that was used, since I grew up owning many classic Peanuts VHS tapes and watching Nickelodeon's re-airings of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show every day after I got home from Kindergarten (1998-1999).

The Martian 7.5/10

The first scenes and the rescue-scenes are 'meh', the rest of the movie had me completely sucked in.

I'm embarrassingly at a point where I'm binge watching and enjoying only rom coms.

What If (The F Word) - 8/10
Stuck In Love - 7/10
The Switch - 5/10
The Art of Getting By - 6/10
The Giant Mechanical Man - 6/10
Like Crazy - 5/10
The First Time - 7/10
Love, Rosie - 7/10

I've discovered Zoe Kazan and Lilly Collins from all the binge watching. They're both phenomenal.

The new Star Wars movie sucked imo. Disney is ruining everything.

Take Me Home Tonight - 8/10

This was a pretty retarded movie. I watched this one quiet evening and I found myself shouting / laughing out loud at the really cringe-inducing awkward moments between Topher Grace's pretentious character and his love interest (I seriously wanted to kill myself every time he lied about working in Goldman Sachs), not to mention the misadventures of his disgrace of a best friend - whose slapstick story arc felt like it could be its own movie.

All in all, it felt uncomfortable/awkward at first, but I really had a good time.

I just saw this last night. I loved Jeff Daniels character, getting shit done. On the whole though, I thought the entire movie was quite rushed. A lot of plot points were glossed over very quickly. The planning and launch of the supply rocket deserved more attention and so did the decision of the Hermes crew.
