Re: Deftones

I remember reading months ago that Jerry Cantrell has a solo on the album, but I forgot which track he was on. Then Phantom Bride came on and I knew. Very noticeable. I like the album, in a strange way in reminds me of latter day Pink Floyd. It has kind of a flying-through-the-clouds vibe to it. The...

Re: Incubus goes to Mexico - video

It's funny, there's so much negative talk about the status of the band around here, but from all the video I've seen of Incubus lately it seems like they're having so much fun together. If only that would translate into new recorded material...

Re: Pick the sound of Incubus' next release

Quicksand has that very trippy electronica sound that just blew my mind upon hearing LG for the first time, I can't say I've heard anything like it since and I'd not be averse to more Incubus material exploring these realms. I agree. The band has an increasing inclination and ability to go a bit mo...

Re: Last movie seen

Irrational Man

Really enjoyed it. I picked what was going to happen in the end, but the way it actually happened was unexpectedly hilarious.

Re: Deftones

Prayers/Triangles is a song that will probably be better in the context of the album. I can imagine it somewhere near the emotional peak of the record.

Re: Last movie seen

The Martian 7.5/10 The first scenes and the rescue-scenes are 'meh', the rest of the movie had me completely sucked in. I just saw this last night. I loved Jeff Daniels character, getting shit done. On the whole though, I thought the entire movie was quite rushed. A lot of plot points were glossed ...

Re: Supergrub/The Division Group

I'd never heard that version of Foster, the Kil's place jam or Norma. Thanks for posting them, I've been on a huge Supergrub kick lately (best break up music, *sigh*) so it's cool to hear some new Kenney magic.

Re: Foo Fighters

I think I enjoyed reading the letter more than listening to the EP lol. But seriously, Saint Cecilia (the song) is just another Foo Fighters song straight from the mould. I've forgotten it already. But the other songs, the ones they've dug up from the past and reworked, are quite listenable. As for ...

Re: Radiohead

I love their In Rainbows album. It's a bonafide masterpiece, which is a considerable statement when you look at the rest of their catalogue. All I Need is one of the most beautiful songs they've done. Has anyone ever done that thing with In Rainbows and OK Computer where you alternate the tracks? It...

Re: Tool

Heh, when they played a handful of shows in Australia and here in New Zealand last year there was a lot of buzz about them playing some new material. But they didn't. And this was after talk of them being in the studio. So, here we go again I suppose. They are a great live act though, one of the bes...

Re: Last movie seen

I watched Love & Mercy today, the Brian Wilson flick. I really enjoyed it. Paul Dano is such a great actor, as is John Cusak. They both nailed Wilson. And I've got a soft (or is it hard...?) spot for Elizabeth Banks. Paul Giamatti was downright scary. And so I've had The Beach Boys music stuck i...
