Re: News and Updates

I personally don't know what to expect from the new EP. Didn't like Into The Summer, didn't like Our Love. I never, ever thought a time would come where I'd be considering not buying an official release by Incubus.

Re: News and Updates

Still haven't heard Nimble Bastard acoustic version from Japan. It's an album track.....why is it so hard to find? Edit: Ok it took me 3 seconds to find it on YouTube finally... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hl5768_0Y8 Thanks @Javincubus I like how this version sounds darker than the original. V...

Re: 2017 Setlists [Spoilers]

It sounds like a good show, Juan. Watching some videos now. It's a real shame that Brandon was so bad vocally at the start of the year when they had the late night shows, because how he sounds now on State of the Art and Nimble Bastard is really solid. EDIT: Listening to that reworked version of Ec...

Re: 2017 Setlists [Spoilers]

Thanks so much for the link, Juan. I really like it. Totally unexpected but it sounds great! Their ability to continue to reinterpret their past work like they have with 'Echo', 'Sick Sad Little World' and 'The Warmth'..it's quite admirable and inspiring. True musicianship at work. LOVE IT!! I know...

Re: 2017 Setlists [Spoilers]

Of course it's hard to judge from that snippet and I applaud the band for constantly trying something new, but that bombast-ending to a delicate song like Echo... I just can't imagine it. Really really wanting to see a full version, cause Echo is super high on my 'Want To See'-list. https://www.ins...

https://www.instagram.com/p/BVhdL6WF2Wl/?taken-by=vevo_uk&hl=en Really cool segment where Brandon and Jose rate ALL of Incubus' records on Vevo UK's Instagram. For those that can't watch them here's the gist: Fungus Amongus - 1.5/10 S.C.I.E.N.C.E. - 3.2/10 Make Yourself - 7/10 Morning View - 8/...

Re: '8' - Album discussion

Does anybody remember the breakdown that someone did on here not long ago about the progression of Incubus albums through time and what was happening on the music scene and the world in general? I think it might have been in the new and update thread but I don't have the time to go looking through ...

Re: News and Updates

So they indeed were in a dark place during the INNW times. I honestly thought, at one point, that they were done after that album. I'm really glad I was proven wrong! Even if I listen mostly to other stuff right now, Incubus will always have a very special place in my heart. I'm 29 now and can't bel...

Re: Incubus' 11 Greatest Songs: Critic's Picks - Billboard

The biggest surprise for me is Here In My Room. I have seen many people call '8' bland, but I think that describes HIMR for me. I don't know if I would put it on my top 11 (too many songs to choose from), but I think Here In My Room is one of the most beautiful ballads they've written, along with M...

Re: '8' - Album discussion

After listening to 8 a handful of times now, I would rank it just slighly above LG, and below the MY/MV/Crow trilogy. I realized that I really like six tracks. And I have to admit State of the Art has grown on me, despite being a bit generic. The others, as a whole, don't do it for me, even if they ...

Re: '8' - Album discussion

I wonder if Anthony Fantano will review the album. Haha. That guy's become really popular lately. I used to find his reviews amusing, but I completely lost trust in the guy the moment he declared Sugar Ray's "Fly" one of the worst songs of his adolescence. I mean seriously? There are clea...

The future of Incubus

Now, with the release of 8 , I can't help but wonder about what the band is going to do next, after this whole album cycle is done. They were pretty consistent in the late 90s/early 2000s, dropping an album every 2-3 years, with S.C.I.E.N.CE (1997), Make Yourself (1999), Morning View (2001), A Crow ...

You know, as good as the album turned out to be, it's still a shame we didn't get to hear what this was all about:

I'm waiting for it to be released, just to see it become the 'Look Alive' of the new album.
