Re: Dirk Lance announces new project: East of June

What a legend and a great video! It’s great to see him, I hope he knows how highly he’s still regarded. I do have one question for the OP - “various Incubus communities online”. Are there more than this one?? Questions for Dirk (sorry, a bit bass nerdy) Do you prefer using the Fender Jazz over the W...

Re: Ranking the live DVDs

Ranking the DVD's is as hard as ranking albums to me. You get different things out of each. For me Alive at Red Rocks is the one I pull out the most frequently because it's the one that gives me the great live concert feeling the most. Jose's drum solo, The Ben-Jose-Brandon drum circle, the best li...

Ranking the live DVDs

Thought I’d have a go, hope i haven’t missed one: 5) Incubus HQ live - some good moments but you can tell they are trying to put on a happy face. Quite tinny sound but nevertheless a great idea. 4) Alive at Red Rocks - It’s a brilliant concert and amazing setting but the extras aren’t great and it’s...

Re: Videos

https://youtu.be/816fqsRFcbU This account just uploaded a bunch of isolated tracks (guitars, vocals, etc) for a few songs like Stellar, Drive, Pardon Me. I don't think I've ever come across those before. Great find! I’ve heard the Stellar bass part before. Judging by the other bass ones these are g...

Re: News and Updates

Hopefully everyone in the band is just happy really! I should hope these days that Ben/Dirk isn't a thing anymore. I don't think it is as much. I am a bass player and I love both of them. I prefer Dirk's tone and that is a huge influence on me but a bass player often will gravitate towards him becau...

Re: News and Updates

Anyone been watching interview clips, etc and think that Ben seems like he can’t be arsed anymore? Wondering if it’s just because he can’t comment that much on MY

Re: Into The Summer - Song Discussion

How does a band that considers songs like Pantomime and Look Alive B sides, and still produces tracks like Absolution Calling and Trust Fall that in my opinion blow everything from INNW and 8 out of the water...come up with this? As a single? I'm stoked to see some MY this fall but I hope this one ...

Re: nope, cant do it - worst song

Make Out Party, Switchblade, Rebel Girls. More controversially, I can’t stand Calgone and most of 8 is a shitshow. Into The Sunmer too, frankly.

Re: Into The Summer - Song Discussion

It’s obviously not that good. They can’t pull the style off, the production in the chorus is weird and the 80s revival has been done to death. Just like 8, it doesn’t have that special Incubus quality that lifts it.

Re: News and Updates

https://youtu.be/Ct0AyiteJ2U Awesome interview. Just making sure no one misses this! It’s the best interview of this era and made me go back and watch a lot of Incubus. Jose mentions that 8 is his favourite music they’ve made. I just don’t see how that can remotely be seen as true. However, I think...

Re: Incubus Ultimate Survivor: Winners (Round 1)

Haha, well it’s all subjective, doesn’t matter if you’re a musician or not. Azwethinkweiz is quite technical I suppose. I just think it doesn’t do anything for me - it’s all try hard and clever but Trust Fall has real build and presence. But then I like Trust Fall loads! So in sum I think Azwethinkw...

Re: Incubus Survivor: B-sides (Round 15)

Punch drunk is the best song but can’t win - it’s a major rip of wish you were here by pink Floyd, which is why it probably wasn’t a single.

Look alive to win!
