Re: News and Updates

The TF single cover was awesome, as was Absolution. I was never keen on Side A's artwork, but this new aesthetic seems also so random and strange.

Bring back fucking Renman...

Re: Our Love - Song Discussion

Overall, I think it’s been a write-off since the last good release, Trust Fall Side A. There were two excellent songs on that, one very good and one abomination. Trust Fall was so exciting, sounded like modern Incubus to me, exactly where I wanted and hoped they would go. 8 is sterile and forgettab...

Re: News and Updates

"INCUBUS's upcoming EP release, "Trust Fall (Side B)", will include their recently released single "Our Love". On the track, the band lock into an irresistible intergalactic groove, orbiting a funky bass line and percussive bounce. Sinewy and spacey guitar gives way to wistf...

Re: News and Updates

The email they sent out in the mailing list confirms Trust Fall (Side B) - must say I never thought I’d see the day. I posted on their Facebook update last night wondering if that would be part of the announcement.

At least it will close the gap after Side A!

Re: Our Love - Song Discussion

I think the previous comment in this thread hits the nail on the head - what they were doing in 2004 and even 2006 was just on a different level of maturity than this. Sometimes it's surprising that it's the same band. I'll always love the guys but hopefully the forthcoming EP doesn't have these sin...

Re: News and Updates

If it's out of their hands then I'm willing to let it slide. That said, it's still looking like 2 singles in as many years, if they don't come with anything else this year that is - but it's early days. They said in a kinda recent interview that albums don't make the splash they used to so they've g...

Re: News and Updates

For the amount of recording they seem to have been doing since 8, one single in a year isn't going to cut it, especially if it's as bad as Into The Summer was (still the only Incubus track I've not downloaded or bought in any capacity.) I remain hopeful and optimistic however that I will enjoy this ...

Re: Ben Kenney - Solo

This is great stuff. I wasn't keen on the last EP, but I'm grooving to this. Especially the end of The Flying Nurse.

It doesn't top Distance & Comfort for me as Ben's finest, but it's a great listen.

Re: nope, cant do it - worst song

The only Incubus songs I can't bring myself to listen to anymore are Love Hurts & Promises, Promises. Dance Like You're Dumb is heading this way too. When I heard that bootleg acoustic Love Hurts from its live debut I quite liked it, however the recorded version ended that. The ones I always ski...

Re: The Beginnings: How you got into Incubus

Epic thread OP. It's warmed my heard reading these stories. I started quite young - at the back end of 1999 when I was 8, after a childhood listening to whatever crap kids listen to, my dad used to let me stay up on Friday & Saturday nights with him watching MTV2. I'd play with some lego or some...

Re: Into The Summer - Song Discussion

Do we know who did the production on this one? It's sounding pretty nice production wise. Othat than that it goes on the pile with Dance Like You're Dumb, Promises, Promises, Undefeated and all the other Incubus tracks that I'll probably never relisten to. I hope they get a good bit of airplay with ...

Re: Into The Summer - Song Discussion

I stand by my previous thoughts on the only interesting bit for me being the middle part for me personally. The song is not good enough to justify the seemingly endless wait unless it's the lead off for an album.

Re: Into The Summer - Song Discussion

They really drop the ball with every release since INN,W. I miss those days. Not crazy about this new track from what I've heard anyway so all this waiting is weird. I'd rather just hold off and get a new album early next year.

Re: Into The Summer - Song Discussion

I can't say I'm a big fan of it apart from the bridge and the build up after the bridge, that's some good shit. The rest of it just falls flat for me. There's a nice funky bassline and some nifty guitar work going on however. I'll most likely file this one with DLYD in the wild card category, but pr...

Re: News and Updates

Hopefully someone in the area of the pop up shop that's on will find out what things are on sale there, the band say there are gonna be daily surprises so I'm excited to see what they pull out the bag this week.

Re: News and Updates

It feels good that they are a busy band again, and there's stuff going on. This is the direct antidote to the previous hiatus'. On the related note, the Audiovent reunion gig sounded awesome, Mike was there to introduce them on stage too which was cool! A new album from them is on the horizon appare...

Re: Audiovent

Jason sounds better than Brandon these days. Still, Audiovent's music sounds much more cookie-cutter to me. Hope their shows go well though. Their debut is kinda like that, however I really really dig the stuff they were working on prior to splitting, it was a little different to the usual stuff, h...

Audiovent

Just a heads up for any fans in here, Audiovent have quietly got back together over the past couple of months, had a supporting tour with Hoobastank booked (that sadly got cancelled) and have a show at The Viper Room in January. Had I been a USA resident or had more money to my name I'd have booked ...

Exciting and interesting to see what happens, and how things unfold. Lest we forget Crow was done in 4 weeks, so they can work speedily!
